About ColorDice

ColorDice is a collection of small, free online color tools built around one idea: picking a color at random should take seconds, work anywhere, and cost nothing. Whether you are settling a board game decision, breaking a creative block, or running a classroom activity, the site gives you a fair random color without asking for an account, a download, or your attention.

The site currently offers three tools. The color dice rolls a 3D six-color dice and keeps running statistics of your rolls. The random colour generator draws from all 16.7 million colors a screen can show, with HEX, RGB and the closest color name. The color spinner wheel spins eight labeled colors with a proper suspenseful slow-down.

Everything runs in your browser. The tools are built with plain web technology — CSS transforms for the dice, a native canvas for the wheel — so they load fast, work on phones as well as desktops, and never send your data to a server. The only thing stored is your dice roll tally, which lives in your own browser's local storage and never leaves your device.

The site is supported by clearly labeled advertising. If you find the tools useful, the best way to support them is simply to keep using them — and to share them with the game group, classroom or studio that needs a fair way to pick a color.
